About HCZ:2024 - The Details...
Dates, Times, Location.
Created to be a jam-packed, two-day, amateur radio convention and expo, HamCon:Zion 2024 is taking place in St. George, Utah, not far from the main entrance to Zion National Park. HCZ:2024 will also be the site of the 2024 ARRL Rocky Mountain Division Convention, the 2024 YLRL Convention, and the RV Radio Network's 2024 Western Rally. HCZ:2024 offers ham radio related activities including presentations, forums, workshops, demonstrations, and special events. A vendor expo hall and an indoor swap meet are planned, as well as, a first-night happy hour meet-and-greet with prize giveaways, food, and a beer garden. There is also an excellent closing night banquet dinner on Saturday night. Join us as we build a new premier ham radio show for the Western states.

The Dixie Convention Center
HamCon:Zion 2024 is proud to host the biggest expo convention in the region at The Dixie Convention Center. Our state-of-the-art facility is air conditioned for your comfort and designed to offer a beautiful place for this exciting event. Our goal is to provide an inviting and comfortable environment for exhibitors and attendees to connect and discover the latest trends and products in the world of amateur radio. With 46,550 sq. ft. of exhibit hall space, 32,000 sq. ft. of meeting space, and 13,500 sq. ft. of ballroom space, The DCC can be configured to accommodate almost any set-up. Plenty of Space
The Dixie Convention Center is the perfect venue for HamCon:Zion. Our exhibit hall boasts over 42,000 square feet of exhibit space, while our ballrooms and meeting spaces can accommodate over 2,000 participants. With state-of-the-art audio and visual equipment, our meeting rooms are ideal for the many engaging presentations and in-depth workshops that are planned for HCZ:2024. The location right along Interstate 15 makes getting to the site very easy. The stunning red rock landscapes that surround the venue make for a truly awe-inspiring backdrop.
Keep an eye out for our detailed floor plan map and accompanying schedule which will be released in the next few weeks, enabling HCZ:2024 attendees the ability to easily plan ahead. You will know when and where you want to be through out the two-day event so that you don't miss any of the topics and activities most important to you.

Parking at the DCC
If you’re planning on joining us for HamCon:Zion 2024, we want you to know that parking is easy and accessible at the Dixie Convention Center in St. George, Utah. There are several parking lots available, including the West Parking Lot, near the front entrance to the building, the South Parking Lot, and the North Parking lot. We also have the Pavilion Lot, which is reserved for vendors, so vendors can easily load and unload their equipment. And for those who require accessible parking, there are several spaces reserved for guests with disabilities.
Please keep in mind, due to city regulations, overnight parking at The Dixie Convention Center is not allowed. That's why we have secured safe, clean, off-site, RV parking very close, at the Templeview RV Park. See our travel section for details related to all the camping and RV parking options near the event.
2024 YLRL
85th Anniversary Convention
The Young Ladies' Radio League, Inc., K4LMB, originated in 1939, when one YL wanted to see if there were any others out there. Thus, 12 women banded together in a male dominated activity, growing an organization that reaches around the world. Members are from all walks of life, all ages, and all levels of ham radio interest. Whether they got into the hobby to talk locally or go around the world to the strangest places, the one radio interest they have in common is other YL's.
HamCon:Zion is excited to have the honor of playing host to the YLRL's 85th Anniversary Convention happening July 11-14, 2024 in St. George, Utah. The YLRL will be hosting events and meetings for their club membership during HamCon:Zion 2024, Find out more about the YLRL by going to YLRL.net.

2024 Western Rally
The area encompassing Southern Utah, Northern Arizona, and Southern Nevada is one of the best travel destination spots in the country. The region is dotted with numerous national parks and monuments, gorgeous state parks, and unique public lands that you will surely want to experience for yourself. And the best way to see these national treasures? Road trip! And, If you can do that road trip in an RV, the experience is even better. The Recreational Vehicle hobby has exploded in popularity in recent years with more couples and families now traveling by RV or camper than ever before. How do you make RV life more fun? Add ham radio to the mix, of course. That is what RV Radio Network is all about. RVRN combines the worlds of RV's and amateur radio together. This year, HamCon:Zion 2024 is very happy to welcome the RV Radio Network to the show this year where they will host there 2024 Western Rally. D.A.R.C. Linked Repeater System (local traffic)
The main repeater system in the St. George area is the linked repeater system of the Dixie Amateur Radio Club. The DARC system will serve as the primary repeater during HamCon:Zion 2024 with three linked repeaters in the Washington County area. All three of the D.A.R.C. repeaters will accept both analog FM and Yaesu System Fusion C4FM digital transmissions, however, they will transmit back in FM Analog ONLY.

Intermountain Intertie (large network for travel)
The Utah VHF Society has built one of the largest RF-linked repeater systems anywhere. With coverage stretching from as far south as Phoenix, AZ, up through Page (AZ), Flagstaff (AZ), Las Vegas (NV), into St. George (UT), and up along the I-15 corridor into Central and Northern Utah, much of Idaho, and parts of Montana and Wyoming, the Intermountain Intertie is a premier linked repeater system. We encourage travelers to use the Intermountain Intertie while you are traveling on the highways. Once you get into the St. George area, we are encouraging hams to switch to the local D.A.R.C. linked-repeater system. HamCon:Zion is presented by the Dixie Amateur Radio Club, an ARRL Affiliate Club and a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization. D.A.R.C. serves Washington County Utah, in the southwest corner of the state, also known as "Utah's Dixie" because of the region's climate and agricultural history. With the goal of promoting amateur radio and supporting amateur radio operators within the area, D.A.R.C. assists the local community in various supporting roles.
Operating under the callsign of W7DRC, the Dixie Amateur Radio Club maintains and operates the Dixie-Link multi-repeater system, performs community service projects, provides support to the Washington County ARES team, and works to expand the hobby of amateur radio in the region. Activate K7Z and make contacts...
HamCon:Zion is excited to activate our special events call sign during the event on Friday and Saturday. Our Special Events Station, K7Z, will be located within the Washington County Emergency Operations Tent that will be located inside The Dixie Convention Center. Buddipole is providing their amazing Buddihex antenna for the station and we will be working 10m, 15m, and 20m SSB. If you are at HamCon:Zion this weekend, stop into the tent and make some contacts. If you are not here, but are on the air and can make contact with us, we have some custom QSL cards that will be sent out upon receipt of a contact confirmation from any station that makes contact with us.
